History Part 1. For the Next few weeks I will be updating this history page on the Bennett Brother's but here is the Begining of the Long Road for the Bennett Brother's.
I will Start off by telling everyone that The Bennett Brother's were Wrestling fans since they were old enough to understand what they were watching. For the Most part they have Always Loved it and idolized many Pro Wrestler's Themselves.
Before 1992 The Bennett Brother's Ace Rick and Bruiser Loved Pro wrestling but they didn't know it was their calling , The Bennett Brother's were Musicians and wanted to make it in the Music Industry. ,Back then it was just Rick Bennett , Paul Bennett and Millard Bennett None the less Still the Bennett Brother's . Ace Rick and Bruiser loving Pro Wrestling All their Life one day they heard about a Wrestling Promotion that was opened and they decided to check it out. The Fed was Called NWF it was completely amateur . They wanted to get involved anyways knowing it was amateur they figured it could be something good. The amateur fed was NWF Newfoundland Wrestling Federation it was A bar Promotion and only Wrestled in bars.
Bruiser and Ace Being the older Brother's and old enough to enter a establishment that required the "LEGAL AGE " they had to Join without their Younger Brother Rick . He was not aloud to Join because of his Age. This Kind of Bothered him but he said damn it he will get his chance. Brusier and Ace began their Training without their younger Brother Rick and started to get ready for their first show at the TOP HAT in the Manuals. Brusier's Character in NWF was HEX The HELL RAISER CASSIDY complete Heal. And a Damn Good one at that. Ace Bennett became Rick Norton taged up with Johnny Norton They were The Thrill Seekers. They Wrestled for one show at the Top hat Rick was there for support but had no part in the program. It wasn't quite Bad though even for such a amateur fed they knew what their calling was PRO WRESTLING
The Next Show Frank's Place Conception Bay . Rick was not present at this show again because of his age they didn't want him to travel that far and Not be aloud into the Establishment That would have been a Embarrassment . so regardless ACE(Rick Norton) and Bruiser ( Hex Cassidy ) were scheduled to wrestle and they attended the Show , again they did what they wanted to do and that was Wrestle. Rick Stayed Home but Not alone. From what I KNOW RICK GOT LUCKY >>>LOL
Continuing On I will Say that I forgot to mention that The Bennett Family , Phoenix ,(Paula Bennett) Mrs.Bennett ( Myrtle Bennett ) and Mr. Bennett ( Millard Sr. Bennett) and Rick Bennett supported Paul and Millard with their ambitions on becoming Pro Wrestlers ,OF Course Rick Did he wanted to become one himself. Anyways Rick Not being Aloud to go to the Frank Place show the rest of the family went and gave their total support. When the show was over and they came home Rick was excited to hear what happened and he told his Brother's that they have to get him in , even if they have to lie about his age. So Rick decided on a Character for himself The WHITE LIGHTNING . as Rick Ace and Bruiser were getting ready for the next show at Frank's Place in Conception Bay they heard about Sailor White , He was renting a Warehouse over in Donovan's Industrial Park in Mount Pearl , The Bennett Brother's waited for a While and still got ready for their show coming up at Frank's Place A couple of weeks before the Show at Frank's Place The Promoter Call The Bennett Brother's and said he was shuting the fed Down being a bit dissapointed The Bennetts decided to check out Sailor White.
History Part 2. 1993 Donovan's Industrial Park
The Bennett Brother's checked out Sailor White's All Star Wrestling School it was a completely different experience then the NWF they actually had to do some serious training. Before they even entered the ring to even learn the basics Sailor Had the Bennett Brother's doing sit ups push ups crouches you name it they done it. Next Came INSIDE the Ring .
They enetered the ring and Sailor asked them to learn a few basic's first, Well they already knew alot of the regular moves like Powerbomb , Suplex , Bodyslam , Sharpshooter , boston Crab ETC... Sailor showed them how to lock up and give a proper wrist lock , reversal ,and so on . this was getting Boring for the Bennett Brother's they wanted to get into the more advanced wrestling . Anyways The Bennett Brother's continued to train and quickly they advanced and became the best in ASW SCHOOL . Some of Sailor's other Students were there months Prior to The Bennett Brother's Arrival but Ace Rick and Bruiser were more advanced then the rest of Sailor's Students.
Anyways it was a couple of Months Training and the Bennett Brother's Ace Rick and Bruiser were getting ready for their first Show with SAILOR WHITE and his All Star Wrestling School . St .John Bosco , Sheigh Heights , Nov. 9th 1993 .
Paul ( Ace ) named himself ACE BENNETT , Rick Decided to keep his first Name , and Millard( Bruiser ) Thought of the Name Bruiser for himself , so it became ACE RICK and BRUISER the Bennett Brother's . Their first show with ASW School just around the corner they trained harder knowing this would be a Step up from the Bar Promotion that just closed , so they wanted to look like they were a step ahead of everyone else . ......THEIR FIRST SHOW..........
